Sr. Software Engineer

United States citizenship or permanent resident necessary to work on classified projects 


Minimum Experience Level

7+ years professional experience developing production-grade C/C++ software in aerospace, defense, robotics, industrial, automotive or similar industry


Minimum Education

Master’s in computer science, electrical or related engineering field from a recognized institution

  • Design and implement mission-critical core software for teleoperated and autonomous legged robots operating in industrial, military and public safety environments Projects and responsibilities will vary as we prioritize on commercializing with customer input

  • Write and connect software components, interfacing with core robotic hardware, energy systems, sensors and radios for remote and autonomous robot applications 

  • Work closely with strategic partners to integrate various software and hardware components to augment the robot platform and operational software.

  • Design and conduct experiments to field-test robot systems over various environments and terrains, as well as weather conditions. Lead the effort to iterate and improve software design and performance

  • Collaborate with team members to assist with high-profile demos and develop solutions to help customers, including our warfighters, with the best robotic tools


Qualifications and Experience 

  • Employ professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, agile development, build tools, testing, and dev-ops

  • Experience with Linux, distributed systems, networking, multithreading, concurrency, real-time software, simulation, electromechanical systems

  • Computer science problem solving and complexity analysis, algorithmic design, data structures, and object-oriented programming

  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and test software in a fast-paced environment

  • Software communication TCP/IP communication stacks and messaging queues. 


Add'l Relevant Experience

  • GPU programming, PCL, ROS packages and 
    Vision-based or other proprioceptive sensors; and electro-mechanical, actuation, drivetrain, and dynamical systems

  • AWS or other cloud services; game engines (Unity, Unreal…) for simulation of sensors
